Dream Time Life Simulation is a gamified performance with live sound and live streaming.

From their bedrooms, two girls (performers) were streamed into the space, one from Japan and another from Berlin. Together they play a Role Playing Game (RPG) called “Dream Time Life Simulation”. Other performers and participants inside of Tate St. Ives enact the game live. The digital is now physical and the physical is now digital. Welcome to the Metaverse!

The two girls play the game, using Live Chat as a device to control their avatars, Puresky9 and Flaminbabe3, who are played by two other performers in the physical space. The other performers were non player characters, whose agency was controlled by the preprogrammed rules of the game. To become part of the game the participants had to create their own character and accept the new reality. The gameplay was made from a combination of the dreams of all of the collaborators.

The piece attempts to validate the ephemeral realities that we occupy, the digital and the dream world, but that we often undermine due to their intangibility and fleeting nature. The gameplay seeks to reprogram that we in fact exist in shapeshifting realities.
