All Water is One Water, is a multichannel CGI film installation built in a gaming engine, centered around a large screen with several smaller scenes hung from the ceiling above.

The scene on the screens above depict an ocean of people with glass wombs standing on small, uneven platforms that float upon the surface of the sea. Plant roots stem from the bottom of each of the platforms. In the distance four ‘Top Level Players’ stand on incomprehensibly large circular staircases carved from icebergs. On one of the small platforms, collaborator Sakeema Crook’s mother stands firmly connected to her roots, with a golden tree inside her glass womb, her vessel.

The camera portals into Sakeema’s mother’s vessel and traverses into Sakeema’s vessel and out into her world inside the Metaverse, depicted on the large screen. Inside her world, Sakeema invites you to embrace things that are ever-growing and changing. Wisdoms passed down from her mother to her are represented in the roots and branches of the trees that surround her, and the gold that holds the precious ground beneath her together.

All Water is One Water contemplates the climate of 2020 in both a psychological and ecological way; a post-covid environment where our reality has shifted, and the desire for radical change has risen to the surface. The film delves into the inner workings of preposterous hierarchy, planetary emergency, grassroots ideologies, ancestral wisdom and visions for freeing identities. As Grace Lee Boggs said “We are the leaders we have been waiting for”.
